The analysis focuses on three areas: multisensory engagements with weather, care for nature and how transnational identities surface through the relational dimensions of nature narratives. Through understanding mundane connections with local nature (plants, animals and seasons), we attend to two questions ‘what can narratives of urban nature tell us about experiences of migration’, and inversely ‘what can diverse migrant voices tell us about experiences of urban nature’? We draw on interview data with 23 participants, all born overseas, with a diverse mix in terms of age (young adults to older retired people), gender, country of origin and length of time resident in the United Kingdom. This paper explores ways in which first generation migrants living in a UK city engage with urban nature. We recommend that planners not only consider size and distance in UGS standards but also consider the demand for UGS characteristics as well. Our findings point to an inadequate supply of nature and overcrowding of UGS in the city centre of Brussels.
Our accessibility analysis shows that, compared to social users, nature-oriented users tend to travel farther to reach their most frequently used UGS but are more often satisfied with the supply of UGS characteristics.

Knowledge on the ways in which valuation of UGS characteristics vary and on an inadequate supply of UGS characteristics should guide and inspire planning and management of UGS to ensure that UGS provision meets the unique needs of communities. Mismatches in the supply of and demand for UGS characteristics are also identified. This paper explores use-related and socio-demographic variations in the valuation of urban green space (UGS) characteristics in the Brussels Capital Region (BCR), lending insights into the valuation of the cultural ecosystem services provided by UGS.

This research highlights how nature's non‐material contributions to people can impact an individual's understandings, meanings and values about places and themselves. Understanding these relationships is further complicated by the interacting influences of intersectional identities with gender and class being particularly relevant to this study. These findings highlight the complexity of migrant–nature relationships in Canada. They felt that their interactions with these spaces provided therapeutic and acculturative ecosystem services by helping them learn about their host country's sociocultural landscape and engage with their own evolving identities relative to their new environment. Participants expressed a deep value of a generalized conceptualization of ‘Canadian nature’-a relational value that nature is special and to be enjoyed-which informed their use and experiences of Metro Vancouver's natural environments. However, they also came from diverse geographic and cultural backgrounds, indicating that common experiences may be indicative of broader trends. Participants were all female migrants of low socio‐economic status, whose particular interacting marginalized identities provided a unique, though potentially limited, understanding of migrants' relationships to their host countries nature. Using qualitative semi‐structured interviews and background surveys, this study characterizes the ways in which 27 recent international female migrants to Metro Vancouver use, perceive and derive value from their relationships with their host country's nature. This research seeks to understand how new migrants' engagement with their host country's urban nature affects their lives, behaviours and identities post‐migration.
Understanding migrants' values about and interactions with nature requires identifying the meanings, benefits and capabilities that arise from their socio‐ecological interactions. New migrants display unique use patterns and relationships with their host country's natural spaces.
